Beardie anatomy for newbies please!

Hi everyone.

I'm hoping to get some diagrams or photos showcasing the average beardie anatomy. NOT the dissected photos you can find online, but one showing what and where the "fat pads" are, vents (is that where you say they take in water?), the ears, ect.

Here's a morphological overview of the basic lizard. It will give you an idea of where things are on our beardies. I don't think anybody's ever diagrammed the location of fat pads, however.

So are the fat pads behind the head on the shoulders? On the sides of the face? Where do they take in water when on a bath, because mine surely doesn't drink from her water bowl.

The fat pads are directly behind the eyes, if you have a baby you won't really be able to see them yet. The vent is where they poop from but I've never relied on water getting into them that way. I always offer water from a syringe every couple days.

Dudley has some rather massive and obvious fat pads... They are the bumps behind his eyes. Its not a diagram, but its pretty easy to see LOL. :wink:
