Now that Im definatly geting anuther beardie how do I introduce beardie 1 with beardie 2? I know thay cant be housed togther but outside the tank is there going to be a problum? Puff is a juvnile and my new dragon will be an adult dragon. I have seen lots of picks with 2 dragons togther but I dont know if there is a correct way to start out forming a beardie friendship. Aney thoughts?

My advise is .... Don't do it. I have 7 dragons and I can tell you what if one of mine got near one of my others they would kill eachother for sure. And all 7 of mine are sweetiepies. But you put one where it can see the other and all heck breaks loose.

I wish mine would do like pictures ive seen where more than 1 can be together but i wouldnt ever risk my babys to make myself happy :D

My husband used to think that Scorch needed a friend until he saw her attack herself in my closet mirror. She looks so very sweet, but she just wants to eat EVERYTHING, including my sons snake that is much larger than her! I held her up to the outside of Foocky's viv so she could look at her and she attacked. lol The only thing she hasn't tried to eat is the dogs. bd+bd=bobo

I had no Idea that those pictures of 2 dragons togther were the exception and not the rule. Thank you for telling me this. I wont let the new gal see Puff at all. I am having a costom VIV bilt for them right now as I tipe. It should be 2 tanks stacked on top of one another. With light fixtures and stuff inside each tank. Thay wont be able to see eachother. I defnitly wont take the risk of trying to put them togther.

I have had 2 beardies since they were the size of my pinkie. They have lived together peacefully in their "home" until 2 weeks ago when Clyde began randomly head bobbing and attacking Bonnie ( who might be a Ronnie---never was quite sure). It bums me out but know I know that I either have to put a dividing wall of their home and make a duplex or set up a second habitat.

Makes me sad. Someone ..please tell me this is a phase although in myhead and gut I know it probably isn't.

I think it really depends on the beardies and their personality. The first two we had were best friends. They slept together and enjoyed the same basking spot, the bedroom window with an 18" reptiglo 8 uvb bulb about 6 or 7 inches above them balanced upon two bricks. The two we have now we would never house together, they are about 6 months apart in age, I think anyway as I have no idea how old Speedy is except that she was about 6 inches long and was clearly sexable when we got her almost one year ago this month. To have them out in the room or the window together doesn't cause any fights between them. We never leave them that way when we are gone from the house. Speedy tries to sit on Zoom Zoom once in a while, but that's the only domination I see from them. Zoom tries to sit on Speedy sometimes, but not as often. She'll try that mostly in the bath. But neither of them has tried to "attack" the other one. Once this last week Zoom headbutted Speedy but not to the point of injuring Speedy and she hasn't tried that again. This is why I think it depends on the beardies whether you can have them out or not. I've read about some beardies attack their reflection in the mirrors. Ours just look at theirselves. We are holding them in our hands and I don't know if that makes a difference with them or not, but out of the 6 beardies we've had we have never had one the attacks themsleves when they look in the mirror.

It is extremely unusual for beardies to get along together, more the exception than the rule. They can turn on each other in the blink of an eye. arenaburch2000, I just ran across a picture of your 2 females that were actually showing dominance issues, so that really should be a concern.

albitjerz, most of us do not recommend housing 2 together because we have seen too many injured beardies and heard too many horror stories.

I've had 2 female beardies together for a year now. We got them as babies. One became the dominant one, other submissive. The only aggression I've seen is grabbing the back of the others neck a couple times. Otherwise, rapid head movement and turning black, while the other drops her head a waves.

This thread is being watched. Remember the policies for personal attacks & post responsibly. There is always a difference of opinion with housing dragons together. Unfortunately, we never know when housing dragons together if there is going to be an accident or not but a lot of times there is. Always exercise caution when housing multiple dragons, & that is all I have to say about the issue.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
