Bearded Dragon Youtube Channel

Within the next few months, I plan on starting a YouTube channel on bearded dragon care. There's a lot of misinformation out there and I know I would have been absolutely clueless without this forum's help. And I certainly know I'm not the only one who had to spend good money replacing stuff once I found out that it wasn't right for a beardie. I'm hoping to help streamline the process for people and help some beardies who aren't getting the proper care simply because their owner got the wrong info.

So, when you were first starting to explore the world of bearded dragon ownership, what do you wish you'd known? I have quite a few ideas already (basic care, overlooked necessities, DIY harness, etc.) but I'm curious to know what you guys would've found helpful when you were starting out.

Information about only temperature guns and digital probe thermometers giving you accurate readings. And, finding out that round gauge (dial) thermometers can be off 20 degrees or more.

Also important to know how to read your beardie by watching signs that they aren't comfortable, unhappy, sick, etc. Their eyes tell us a LOT as well as their body language & coloring. They communicate with us if we know what to look for.

Uv is defiantly a good one a lot of people are definitely misinformed in that area. After all the reasearch I did that's the one thing I overlooked luckily I figured it out fast?. Also I'd like to add food, both veggies and insects, also supplementation and substrate is another topic.

Petstores VS. breeders! Add something about those junk starter kits, too. And make sure to mention this forum!

I would love one on their behavior! That is what I've had the hardest time finding info on.
Does it mean something when they lay really flat vs head up? what does basking with eyes open vs closed mean? Are they stressed if they start breathing fast, or just extra alert, ready to run or black beard or whatever? And of course, just typical behavior of a newly relocated beardie and how to deal with it would be handy.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
