Or something else, I don't know, hence I'm asking here! Everyday, for the past few weeks (maybe even a few months, but worse now in the past few weeks) my bearded dragon has been immensely restless. She spends 90% of her time trying to escape from her tank (and now that I've removed the screen as to not filter out her UV light) occasionally succeeding. Quite a few times I've returned home to find her gone.
Thankfully, I live alone without animals that would harm her, as well I've beardie-proofed my home, and am sure to keep little things she could swallow well out of her way.
For some reason or another, my dragon wants OUT of her cage! I understand boredom and such, but she gets so much personal time with me, and interaction, that it seems sort of excessive. It wasn't important, until she stopped eating, too. My dragon seems to have little to no interest in food anymore, ONLY wanting to escape her cage and be on her own. She also, every time she escapes, does the (mostly) same thing- scurries down the hall at her leisure, makes her way into my bedroom, walks around a bit, and then settles down under my bed and sits alert, relaxing. She'll stay there all day, if I'd allow it.
As for her husbandry, there's no loose substrate in her tank, her temperatures are correct (measured with a temp gun occasionally, about 100-102 at the basking spot, 90-95 warm side, 78-85 cool side), she's not gravid, and she can pass her waste (although lately, there's no waste to pass, as I can't get her to eat, and at most, it's one bug, so then only a tiny poop a few days later)
Her diet consists of dusted dubia roaches, and a variation of greens (typically collard greens, and others, such as turnip and mustard greens, when in season and carried by the store)
I've tried the zoomed supplemental repti-aid or whatever it's called, she loathed it, and if things don't get better, I'm going to have to force feed her critical care/chicken baby food slurry. I'd rather not get to that point though, as I don't feel like getting bit. Tomorrow when the vet opens, I'm going to discuss getting some dewormers and getting a fecal done, or instead I may think about ordering Reptaid as to not be harsh on her stomach, and to save some money.
First and foremost though- I want your opinions. This seems behavioral, not health related, but I'm no expert- I like to think as some of you as, however.
