Bearded dragon to small?????? PLEASE READ!!

I got my bearded dragon three months ago from PetSmart. So he is about 3-4 months old but heres my concern he is only 6 inches! he had to get half a inch of tail cut off due to a bit of retained shed from the pet store not bathing him. i feel like hes to small tho can anyone help i will be more than happy to answer any questions yall may have! Please answer me quickly i am very concerned! Also he seems like he may be brumating but he is to young he had a poop test done and it showed he is completely healthy. hes been hiding a lot but he comes out to bask also.

Hi there, can you list the exact type + brand of lights you are using , and if the uvb bulb is a coil, compact or long tube ? It's definitely not brumation, babies don't brumate. Can you post a few pics of the beardie itself as well as pics of the entire tank and light set up ? What insects are you feeding him ? Here's how to post pics :

He has a reptisun 10.0 coil and 100 watt basking light at night a ceramic heat emitter. He eats live crickets no bigger then the space between his eyes. And veggies
He poops normally and his temps stay between 100-110 on the warm side and 80-85 on the cool side he acts normal.

Your set up is good, you should add a tall basking branch though, it's very important to provide a climbing/basking log that they can get up high if they want to. That gets them nearer to the lights. Sadly the coil bulb can't give off enough uvb, especially in a tall tank. You'll need to change it ASAP. The best ones are the Reptisun 10.t5 or the Acadia D3 12or 14%. Both can be ordered online.

Thank you so much we went to the pet store earlier today and picked one up because I read up on it he seems to enjoy it and he is out more. What about his growth?

O.K, that's good ! Can you post a pic of the exact bulb you got [ the package if you still have it ] As for his growth, how many crickets is he eating a day ? They need to be fed 2-3X a day, about 40-50 small crix a day powdered lightly with calcium powder to obtain a good growth rate. Having a better uvb bulb should help his appetite now.

It also looks like you are measuring temps with a stick on thermometer. You need to get a temp gun or probe thermometer. Those stick on ones can be 10-20 degrees off.

It’s a humidity and temp it’s Velcro I got a more accurate one
