Bearded Dragon sick

3 months ago my bearded dragon got spayed because she would not stop producing eggs,after the surgery she was fine and eating. Then a couple of weeks ag she refused to eat anything, she also started going to the bathroom more than 3 times a day really watery, basically all liquid and she did not produce any urates and the stool smelled really bad. Even though i bath her at least twice a day her eyes are sunken in and also the fat pads behind her eyes. I looked for answers on the internet too see what she had and didnt find anything since bearded dragons are rareley spayed so now im on here asking for help. Also i got critcal care by oxbow to see if that would help her get vitamins into her but i dont know what dosagea too give her.

Hi J, I'm sorry to hear that your girl is not well. Can you post pics of her ? I've read right here on this forum where dragons that had been spayed continued to produce eggs afterwards....it seems that it's very difficult to remove the ovaries + all the egg follicles. Hopefully that's not the case but it is possible.

What was she eating before she got sick ? The Critcal Care formula is a nutritious food supplement that can be given about 5-6 ml's at a time , maybe twice a day. If she handles that well, you might offer more.

It might be good to have an X-ray/ultrasound if she doesn't get better soon. Best wishes to you + your girl !

Hi thank you for responding she was eating very well before she got sick she did get x rays after she got spayed and there was nothing. Before she got sick she was eating dubia roaches with calvium 3 times a week and multivitamin 1 time a week. Im new to the website and dont know how to upload pictures and for the critical care formula how much tbsp do i use for her.

The follicles wouldn't show until they began to grow again, even then they can possibly be difficult to see because they're small. So an X-ray after surgery would not show them.....so it can't be ruled out although it could be something else. Blood tests may show if something's going on with the liver , kidneys, blood cells , etc.

The Oxbow formula can be mixed to make it semi soupy , not too thin, not too thick.

Poor girl does look a bit tired, eyes are somewhat sunken. Hopefully she'll take the Oxbow which will provide nutrition as well as hydration.
