[ALL HIS INFO IF ANYONE NEEDS IT. CAN SKIP TO THE ACTUAL QUESTION IF YOU DON’T NEED THIS) Titan is 3 months old, around 11” in a 40 gallon tank. He eats about 50 1/2” dubai’s every day and a salad every day (3 total feedings including salad). Calcium 5 days a week and vitamins 2 days a week. His humidity at day is always 30-40% and at night 40-50%. Day time the cool end sits around 82-85 and the hot end at about 90 with a basking area that gets to about 102 or so. Also has the reptisun uvb 10 (tube). Generally very active outside of his cage and during feeding. Walks around a little while in his cage. His poops are usually normally with ones that are occasionally a little “mucusy” or slimey looking but he poops once a day and they’ve never looked alarming. He does seem a little skinny to me but his tail seems to hold fat and while his fat pads on the head aren’t raised, they’re not necessarily sunken. He also gets misted about once a day on his head for water and one bath a week.
With all the general info out of the way, now for my actual question: Why doesn’t he ever go to the hottest point to bask? He usually sits in the areas that are 90-98 but rarely do I see him hanging out in the hottest point. I’ve never seen him gape to regulate heat so I know he’s seemingly never hit his thermal max or whatever it’s called. I’ve only seen him have a poop that looked not very well digested once but it wasn’t that bad. Do some dragons just tend to not bask like you think they would?
