Bearded dragon scared of other bearded dragon, help?

Hi, my name is james
I have 2 bearded dragons
One is about 8 inches and the newly bought one is about the same length but larger
When the new beardie goes near the other one the other for crazy d tries to escape by running on the glass
This is strange because I've had this beardie for 2 months and he/ she is well settled in
I would like to know why this is happening becuase I am worried for there health

The following link is about co-habitation. It isn't advised. They can and probably will hurt one another. There will be a dominate one who will take the best basking position, most or all of the food. The other will not fair well. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=154908

I rescue bearded dragons. I currently have 11 beardies. 2 of those are multiple bite amputees. They both were attacked by another dragon living in the same tank. Please separate them before one is maimed or killed. Dragons are territorial and need their own enclosures.

Here is Pilot. He lost his left hand, left lower leg and foot and a large portion of his tail to bite amputations.

This is Sage her night of rescue. She had just been attacked for a second time and lost her entire left arm to a tank mate. One photo shows the left leg still attached before it dried up and fell off. It was bite crushed in an attack 2 weeks prior to when the entire left arm was ripped off in an attack.

Please consider separating them into their own tanks.

That's really a really good job you have there, its nice to see people really caring for their pets
I will try and buy a new viv with all the setup but for now one will have to go in a small 10 gallon tank

For now a small dragon temporarily in a 10 gallon to keep it safe is perfectly fine! It's wonderful you will separate them.

Edit: You can share a basking bulb by placing the tanks end to end and making the ends that meet the basking ends. Then you can suspend the basking bulb over where the tanks meet and heat both basking areas. You can also share a UVB temporarily. Suspend the UVB over the same area as the basking bulb and elevate the basking areas. Hope this helps!
