Bearded dragon on furniture?

I've heard a lot about bearded dragons having salmonella. I love holding my bearded dragon everyday. I wash my hands before and after holding her. I was wondering if having bearded dragon on furniture, for example, beds, couches, etc. is it unsanitary ?

Only if they go to the bathroom on your furniture. Most of their bacteria is found in their poo.

So after she poos she can go on furniture without it getting me or anybody sick?

I would say yes. My beardies climb all over my furniture and I have never gotten sick.

by the way, you can always take in a poo sample to your vet and have them do a test to see if your dragon has parasites or any other problems. It is cheaper and less stressful for your pet to just take in the poop and most vets don't mind if you drop it off. Just call first before showing up with your offering!
