So I was wondering if i can cut trim my bearded dragon nails his about 14-16 inch long though his nail doesnt seem to big and it seems fragile so i dont wanna hurt him but his nail are really really sharp ): When should i be able to cut his nails?

My boyfriend says to never cut them, I've heard people talking about cutting them, I would never cut them my beardies are also sharp. but its your beardie not mine or anyone else's i'd say go to google and search it and make your best judgement on reading what other people do to their beardies nails. i'd leave them. but that's just me.

Oh no alot of people trim their nails of course im just wondering at what ate it would be to be safe for them to trim their nails. cause i dont want to injure the beardie i searched about how to cut them but i looked at my beardie and im not quite sure if his ready for that so im asking for other opinions about it.

in my opinion I wouldn't do it unless when they scratch you it starts to bleed, than i'd trim the nails. I guess I wouldn't worry about it too much (I don't anyways) unless their fingers start to bend in odd ways from the nails being to long, do you know where the quick is in case you do end up trimming them?

It is perfectly normal to trim a Beardies nails, there are many many posts on here with step by step instructions (just do a search), as well as plenty of videos on YouTube. You just trim the very tip, the black end that looks like a spike, never cut into the white. If you use ceramic tile as your substrate you will not have to trim the nails either, the tile will keep them filed down.

You should trim your beardie's nails because they could potentially grow too long if left untrimmed and could affect his ability to walk.

Just like trimming a dog or cat's nails, only clip up to the quick (blood line). Or even easier, only clip the 'hook' part of the nail so he won't continue to scratch you.

Here is a good photo of where to cut. I trimmed my beardies nails a couple time when he was a baby, but now we have him on ceramic tile and I haven't had to do it since. I used a nail clipper for cats.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
