Bearded dragon licked outside wall?...

I am worried about my beardie. About a month ago, if not more, probably more, I sprayed raid on the outside of my house. Today I was sitting outside with little Pope Ivan and he decided to walk up to the wall, where I sprayed it with raid, and licked it. So when I realized, I immediately ran him inside and stuck a spatula in his mouth and ran his mouth under some water. He spit most of it out like a hose, which was somewhat funny. And then he got really pissed with me. Which is understandable, he hates the rubber spatula in his mouth. I would too if I was him. But I figured it was the safest way to get his mouth open because my vet told me to administer his medicine that way back when he had necrosis in his tail. But now he seems okay. He's not acting weird at all or sick by any means. I just want to know if he will be okay. I have a real ant problem, which is why I sprayed raid around my house borders. But I think I rinsed his mouth out really well... So I'm just wondering if anyone knows if he will be okay? It was just a small lick. It wasn't like he was licking it forever. Just one small lick like he does with everything new he sees. Or me, when I smell different. When I sprayed raid, it was a really really long time ago. Like I can hardly remember when I did it. At least a month or two and there has been much rain here since. I am no ***** by any means, sitting here feeding my lizard raid or something like you may think. Nor do I want him to die AT ALL. It was just a huge mistake on a day when I was just trying to hang out outside with my beardie in the sun and didn't think before he decided to lick the wall. I have removed him from the situation, now he's just sitting in my lap. But please just tell me... Do you guys think he will be okay? I am guessing if there was any raid left it was just a small trace amount. And after washing his mouth out with water, I am hoping he will not be effected.

If it has rained since you sprayed the wall than I wouldn't worry at all.

Hi,
If it's been a month since you sprayed hopefully the weather will have taken care if it. I'd watch him closely for any unusual behavior and for a black beard that is staying black for an extended period of time. I'd give him some extra fluid over the next few days.
Stop feeling bad, we all make mistakes. And I doubt anyone thinks you are bad or irresponsible! Obviously you care very much for your little one or you wouldn't be on here looking for advice to help him.

Maybe look in to natural ways to combat bugs around the house; then you don't have to worry so much about chemicals :wink:

According to the bug guys, your fine. I had such a issue a long time ago. As someone else stated, the weather probably took care of it already. Lick happens :lol:

Jeanierdh, Dragonlover3, EccentricME, and Irwinshealth, Thank you all so much for your advice and help! Ivan has shown no signs of being affected by the Raid I sprayed. I appreciate all of the tips, I will start to look for a natural form of Raid so that way there will be less of a problem. "Lick happens..." was a very funny statement to hear because it's true! Haha. It does! Ivan seems just as happy and bright as ever! No black beard, what so ever. Also, no abnormal behaviors. So glad he is okay! He's such a sweetheart, everybody who meets him always comments on how loving and aware he is of the world around him. I'd die if he died, I truly would. He has become my best friend. He's always so smiley. So for him to die would just be devastating. Like I said, thank you all for the help and the tips, they are of much help. As of now, Ivan is okay. So I think he will be fine. But thanks, again, as always! Love you guys! <3

P.S. Ivan's birthday is in 6 days! He will be turning two years old!!!! Anybody know the average years that beardies live? I heard anywhere from 5-8? Anyways, we are excited for his birthday! There will be a cricket and meal worm feast!!!!!!
