Hi, i own two bearded dragons, (Rachkie (20cm) Nelson (13cm), and yes they are housed together, i know they arent supposed to be, but i bought Nelson for my boyfriend as an early christmas present and well, he doesnt have his reptile license yet, it is on its way!

Right now Nelson is doing pretty good, theres nothing wrong with him, hes healthy.. although, during the week he jumped from one of his logs and then after that seemed a bit wobbly.. like he's head was too strong for his body, and he'd constantly run around licking things and looking at the ground weird KIND of like he was off his face, he found everything interesting.. he still ate though, and when i looked up on the internet what could be wrong with him i read that he might have something in his ears.. so we bathed him and went over his ears, which made him better, but the next day it was back to the same thing.. it hasnt happened for about .. id say 3 -4 days now.. but i was just wondering what it could have been? so that if it happens in the future i will know what to do / what it might be.

and this isnt really on the topic of health, but Rachkie doesnt eat his vegies.. and hes a juvy.. where as nelson is only a baby and he eats all his greens, (rocket, snow peas, brocoli) but he wont eat carrots.. i was wondering if anyone knows why this might be? or how i could get my beardie (Rachkie) to eat vegies. :) any help would be greatly appreciated.

froooooooooooom rachel.

Well, if it is an ear problem, you wouldn't want to give him a bath. Most ear infections are caused by water getting into the ear holes during bathtime or any other time when they're exposed to water. So try to keep those ears as dry as possible, in case that's the culprit.

On the other hand, my Beardies lick everything. They're about three and a half months old now. (Fiz is 8 inches & KD is 9). They have licked everything since day one. They used to be housed together, but they're seperated as of last week when I had an issue. Since your one Beardie is bigger/older than the other, it's very important that you get the smaller one out as soon as you can. My Beardies have been housed together since they were hatchlings (from the breeder of course) and I was pretty shocked when one turned on the other. So please always beware of the dangers!

Anyway, like I was saying, they lick everything. They love to bask and explore and just be crazy little guys. My Beardies find every little thing interesting. If I put a new dish in there, they investigate it for an hour, just crawling on it and licking it unil they realize it's just a dish and go back to their normal things. They are also very intrigued by their poop! I wouldn't worry about a curious Beardie! But if you think he's acting strange, a vet visit wouldn't hurt  My littlest one stares at the lights a lot, and sometimes stares at the ground every once in awhile.

As for their veggie habits, my two babies have been eating veggies since day one. They love their greens! What do you mean Nelson doesn't like carrots? I introduced carrots to my two guys and they L O V E it. I shred them with a cheese shredder thingy and they lick it right off of my fingertips! Some other favorites of theirs are softened butternut squash and collard greens! You may be able to get Rachkie to eat veggies by doing the "topper" method. The Topper method is basically you put a cricket (or whatever feeder you use) on top of their salad, and when your Beardie goes to lick the buggie up, they'll get a bite of salad. Do this multiple times with your feeders during a feeding, and eventually Rachkie may catch on!

Thankyou so much for your advice. When I give Nelson carrot he backs away from it, naturally you'd think he is just full but I try giving him greens straight after and he gobbles it up. Haha, he's very very random.! I think rachkie used to eat veggies every Now and again but I've never actualy seen him eat veggies.

And thanks for your advice about the feeding too!

I had to look up what a Reptile licence is..
Class 1 licence
A Class 1 licence authorises you to keep most of the common species that are easy to look after. A person with just a basic knowledge of the needs of reptiles should have no difficulty meeting the needs of these species.

Good grief, sorry to hear that. Governments love control, I hope my country stops this kind of nanny police state crap.... but we are not off to a good start either. :banghead:

No...

But who cares???
I am sick of all the control and regulation they put on everything.
I like the idea of just saying NO ... and stop getting in line to appease these control freaks.

Dang,
my Car is regulated like crazy, I have to jump through hoops to have a gun to protect my fammily ( I don't like the idea of waiting for the cops in a time of emergency... a lot can happen in 5 mins. Besides if only cops have guns, who will protect you from the cops.. just look at past history) I cant go bird watching because all the Parks are closed before 8am. TSA feels up grandma, all while having people so scared Al-qaeda is hiding behind every corner, that people give up their rights and freedoms. Then they put Al-qaeda in charge of Libya ... sure makes scenes.....They bail out the big Banks with our money, start war after war to push their agenda (wait I mean humanitarian mission  ).... it goes on and on...
The criminal control freak Gov can back off my Beardie...

The OP is from Australia. In most places you need a license to own native species. For example, in the south eastern US, it is illegal to own corn snakes because they are native, and in California you can't keep gopher snakes as pets. As far as I know, bearded dragons are legal in all U.S. states, but it is always good to check local ordinances before you acquire an animal to make sure they are permitted in your place of residence.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
