Firstly, I am a new owner and my buddy Rex here is my first dragon. He is currently 16 inches long and about 9 months old. Ever since I got him, he has been a picky eater. I've tried tons of fruits and veggies, yet he hardly expresses interest in anything. About 3 months ago, I was able to get him to eat squash and blueberries (and occasional banana). I also have him on Phoenix Worms as his primary bug.
All of a sudden, about 10 days ago, he just stopped eating. He won't accept anything I give him at all, and he just wants out. I've managed to get him to nibble on a banana and eat 3 phoenix worms since he stopped eating (by basically whacking his mouth with them for 5 minutes). He is just a ball of energy and just sprints away from me when I take him out. I've noticed he always sprints towards my bedroom door, and runs out into the kitchen (no clue why he picks the kitchen).
Like I come back from class, and the second he sees me he hops off his basking hammock and glass surfs like crazy until I get him out. He sprays water and food all over the place and just runs up against the glass edges of the tank.
For specifics, his basking spot gets pretty hot. I swapped the rock back over earlier, I had the hammock up close to the light and he would "vent" with his mouth (I had to fight a bug infestation and somehow they were getting into the rocks I had). I've already got a Reptisun 10.0 bulb, just trying to figure out how/where to get the mounting fixture. I ordered a thermometer, the one I was using broke.
He still poops, and it seems as normal and smelly as ever (not sure what he is pooping out exactly). I haven't had him fecal tested, mainly because I have no idea what exactly would "warrant" a vet visit. I'm not quite sure what to do, just looking for expert advice.
