Bearded Dragon Gout Very Worried

So my dragon Vladimir has gout. He is about a year old and we discovered it a few months back. Recently he has been doing better and is taking Allupurinol. But today his gout foot is shedding and his actual foot is really hard. Its been swollen from the gout but i now noticed its really hard. Is this normal for the gout to cause it to be hard? Or the shedding?

Hello,

That can be normal yes, but, just how hard is it? Do you have pictures?
Is his foot still really swollen or is it going down?
Try soaking him daily, to see if that helps out. The shed was probably very thick too, or not?

I am glad you have him on the allopurinol to help. Have you reduced his protein a little bit & increased his fluids & greens?

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
