Bearded Dragon Food....

Hey guys,

I was going threw the pet store trying to find Shera some new items for her cage and noticed this Dragon food (pellets) and thought I would ask you all what you thought of this food. My Dragon does not like to eat much( although I have came to assume she eats when we are not watching cause the crickets disappear after we leave the room for 1/2 hour) . I thought these might be a good thing to leave in her cage all the time since she is shy to eat around us.

Every few days I leave a dish of these out, just so they are there. I have seen him occasionally have some, so he does know they are food, in fact I mix it up occasionally with other dried foods such as Iguana pellets, and even all veggie ferret food which is extremely similar to the BD food ingredients.

I do this with the sole purpose so he does lean they are food, and if in the event I have no choice but to leave him alone for a few days, I know I can put this in an automatic small dog/cat feeder and he will have food.

My beardie is shy about eating her salad in front of me. However she is far from shy eating live foods lol. Its fine to leave them in as long as you don't leave them in over night as they can nibble on beardies and they have quite a nasty nip- beardies should be fed no later than 1-2 hours before lights out so they can digest- im not sure if you already know this but i'd thought id mention it just incase. also have you seen this website, its great for food: http://www.beautifuldragons.503xtreme.com/Nutrition.html

ive never used the pellets but they are nutritional. welcome to the wonderful world of beardies
