I have had my bearded dragon for close to 2 months. His name is Junior and he is about 3-4 months old and is 9 inches long. I keep him in a 20 gallon tank with a food bowl, water dish, a couple of smooth stones, a driftwood, and a log for him to hide in. I have been using a 75w Repti-Basking Spot Lamp and Reptisun 5.0 UVB Fluorescent Compact Bulb ever since I got him. I do realize that there are mixed opinions about the Reptisun Compact Bulb. He never has kept his one eye closed like this till today. The only thing we did new was that we added a new hide. It was a cave-like hide and we added it yesterday under his heat side next to the driftwood. Today in the afternoon, he started to keep one eye shut. He has never done something like that before. He can open it, but he prefers to keep it closed and sometimes opens his eye when I walk around. There is no discharge and nothing out of the ordinary with his eye. He did recently come out of shed a couple of day ago and he has been gaping, or keeping his mouth open for quite a while, but that is because he is regulating his body temperature. His warm side is 102 degrees Fahrenheit. He drinks water, eats crickets, lettuce, and once in a while some bell-pepper. I clean his tank once a week and bathe him on the same day. I hope all this info helps.
