Bearded dragon distance from Reptisun 10.0

I have a Reptisun 10.0 mounted inside my cage. I read that the light should be 6-8 inches away from where the dragons basking spot is. He is most of the time within the 6-8 inch range, but if he wants to he can get as close as 5 inches. My question is can the light hurt the dragon if its to close, and should I raise it a little.

That's correct for a T8 bulb. Optimal output (for basking) is at around 6''. If he can get to 5'' it probably won't cause an issue but I wouldn't put it closer than that because it can get intense and possibly harmful at close range. On the flip side, it's good to have areas in the tank that have little to no UVB exposure so he can easily move around to get what he needs at any given time. They don't need full intensity UVB all the time.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
