I had two dragons together, well after a lot of thought I decided to sell my leatherback. Now my draven is acting funny. He ate good yesterday when she was in there but now that she's not in there, he's not wanting to eat and he's moopy. Can bearded dragons get depressed? Any ideas?

Although I have not experienced it with my beardie, I have experienced my female day gecko grieve for her mate when he passed on. I truely believe that animals do get depressed. I think its possible he misses his friend. Maybe watch him for a couple days and see if it passes. If not, take him to the vet to see if there is an underlying medical problem.

Could you give a rundown of your setup? Type of UVB bulbs and Basking bulbs? Also Temp, substrate, feeders, veggies you give, supplements. Was the other one dominate to that beardie when they were housed together? Have you made any major changes to your setup lately besides removing another beardie? Are they going through a shed? Any discolored patches that indicate shed approaching? Bearded Dragons are solitary animals so separation from the other one should not affect the other, its for the best they are not housed together.

I have done a run down of the cage prior about a month ago(I'm on my phone, when I get home I can type faster and give a run down again) Still eats the same temp the same... He was the more dominant of the two as far as feeding but most of the time she was more the one who would lay on him. He would wave to her all the time. I chose to give her up because no matter how much I fed them.. He would out eat her.

Yes he is shedding but he sheds all the time and it never bothered him before. I haven't done anything different to his cage. He seems to be fine when we pay him attention but the minute we stop he gets moopy.

Sluggish kind of. Not as hyper he seems to get hyper though when we get him out and play with humongous the floor but once he goes back to his cage he is just lazy. He was never like that until I removed his friend.

just wait a little and see what happens- it might being something else and he could be sick or just not use to the environment with out her. give him a few days-weeks and if he isn't getting more like normal, contact a vet.

I notice last time I changed his environment he did this. But I just worried I depressed him taking his friend out. But it might just be the changes. He hates change lol

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
