Bearded dragon bite infection

Hi all, I haven't posted in a while, but I was feeding my dragon the other day and she bit my finger. I didn't think anything of it because it didn't even break the skin, but now my finger is swelling, and hot and my glands are swelling. What are the issues I have to watch out for in terms of the types of infections? is it possible to get salmonella from a dragon bite?

If youre having a bad reaction I would go to the Doctor. From what I've heard all reptiles have the ability to carry Salmonella. You're chances of actually contracting the disease from reptiles is small but verys depending on the reptile and the conditions. I'd say its more likely some type of bacteria infection from the saliva. Either way you should see a doctor because it could be serious.

I just want to second this: GO TO THE DOCTOR!

In the meantime, clean the area well, and use antibiotic ointment. But seriously, GO TO THE DOCTOR.

I've had that reaction to cat, rat, dragon and hamster bites. It could be you're just allergic to the saliva like me. I just clean it, take a lil benadryl and forget about it.

If you had salmonella you'd know it!
What you do have is an infection. I would get to the doctor sooner than later. Antibiotics are what you need.

If the wound is swollen and hot and your glands are swelling it's too late to clean it and forget it.
