bearded dragon and leopard lizards

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone knew if it would be ok if I put my BD and a leopard lizard together. I have a female BD who is in a 75 gallon tank right now. I have my eye on one leopard lizard who looks pretty healthy in a pet store but I want to know if it will get along with my BD. I know there's a risk of them eating or biting each other. But besides that do you think it would be ok?

No, it won't be OK. Aside from your beardie eating the gecko - which it will - they have different temperature and humidity requirements. They cannot both be healthy in a shared environment. Buy yourself a nice 20 gallon long aquarium and put the gecko in that. :D

I was talking about a leopard LIZARD not a leopard GECKO. It's a mistake that a lot of people made. There's not a lot a information on the husbandry with them but they do require the same temp. and humidity as BDs.

It's not a good idea. Beardies are solitary creatures by nature and prefer to be alone. They don't even like to be with other beardies, much less a different lizard. I really really don't recommend it even though the cage is large and they have the relatively same environment requirements...

sorry to burst the bubble :(

Really bad idea and you won't get anyone on here to tell you otherwise. Even if you find a lizard that has exact housing needs to your beardie. Beardies will see anything smaller than them as food, and anything the same size as a trespasser, either way it won't end well. Don't feel that your beardie requires a friend, they are solitary creatures and the only attention they crave is from people, and that is just because they want out of their cage to plot world domination.

As previously stated it isnt a good idea for several reasons.First the size variation alone will most likely ensure that the beardie will kill this lizard since they are quite a bit smaller in size. Also you need to remember that the reason there isnt alot of info on this particular animal is because they are not usually a captive bred animal.Much like the blue throated agama the ones you see in the pet store are generally wild-caught.Since they are wild caught the risk of transferring a disease or parasite to your BD is much greater.

If you do decide to get one of these I reccomend housing it alone, also get a fecal done to check for parasites and research a few things on collard lizards as they are very similar and may help you specialize the care they require.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
