Bearded bitten by an another bearded!

Guys!

I made a terrible mistake, i wanted a photo of both my smaller and bigger bearded dragon together, but in an instant my zero(bigger) bit the smaller one on the head. There's just a tiny bit of blood, but the scalp has a scar, i am wondering what can i do to help the poor fellow, she seems okay and still active and not affected by the incident. but also i would like to know if she will fully heal and the scars gone? i have attached a picture for some help!

Critical structures there ( very close to jugular ) and chance the skull has been damaged .... I think a visit to a vet for xrays is in order to sure of what you are dealing with.

The scar will heal .... I'd keep it clean and treat with a drop or two of Betadiene each day to try to keep it from becoming infected.

Oh poor baby, its lucky he/she survived, usually bites to the head can be quite fatal.

If you have any raw unpasteurized honey you may be able to put it on the wound to stop it getting infected.
Other than that my advice would be never let them see each other again or interact, also keep the injured one in a very clean tank.

I'd try and get her/him into a vet soon.

Hi there, if the baby is active + eating you don't need a vet at all. The raw honey is the very best thing for it as Venus said . Not only is it an antimicrobial but it promotes healing because it contains amino acids + acts as a barrier to bacteria. Any wound heals fastest with honey on it.

I declined to suggest using honey because being such a young hatchling , it will be in virtually constant contact with live feeder insects (fed three times each day) and it's highly likely some will elude the hatchling and come out later , perhaps overnight.


If using honey , be extra vigilant to make sure no flies or feeder insects such as crickets, roaches or locusts are left over from feeding sessions , they WILL be drawn to the honey and will nibble on the honeyed wound and make it worse.

I brought to the vet and apparently no major issues. She’s back home and eating crickets as though the accident hadn’t happen. But I was told to monitor her..

Also I would like to ask if her scars will heal completely and cover back? Or will there still be some marks left

Seriously, don't let them together ever again, 99.9% of the time this situation is fatal, we've seen it many, many times and usually results in a crushed skull. Even when the dragons are the same size, doesn't matter, the skull bone is thin and their jaws are strong.

He may very well have a scar, just like you or I would have a scar. Be thankful that he's alive and going to be okay, don't worry about there being a scar. It will serve as a reminder to you to not every put them together again...
