beard..

im not sure if this is the right place for this but.....FC never had a black beard. He is 3 and since lastnight his beard went black along with half of his tail, he was puffing his beard out. I took him out tried to feed him, bathed him and he's still in the corner with a black beard and tail, whats wrong with him?

or sustained an injury?
They usually black beard when they are in pain or taken a fall..
If you could run over your set-up ?

no i dont think he fell. But he wont let me touch him, he opens his mouth and hises at me!! he nevr does that to anyone!! im going to take him to the vet. im worried that he has something wrong with him, i dont want to let it go and then regret it later...

But his set up is....
75 Gal tank
tile floor
i cant remember what uvb light...repitsun?
it stays between 90-102 in basking around 75-80 in cool area, stays around 70 during night.
anything else you need to know about set up??

Yeah vets does sound like the best thing,
It sounds like he has broken something.
He might have fallen off something in his viv..

now that you mention him falling....he was on his hammock and one of the suction cups lost their suction and he fell on his back legs...he didn't seem like he hurt himself then tho....it juast looked like he was standing up straight.

when i called yesterday every vet told me they wouldn't take him because he's an exotic pet. and i cant find the number to the herp vet i take him to :/ i know where ts at but its a hour drive. i'd hate to drive all the way out there and they not be able to take me. i dont know what to do. lastnight he attacked me, he went for my face....I had him in his carrier for abut 10 mins and when i took him out he was fine until i put him back in his cage?

Is he your only dragon? do you have a female dragon in the same room with him?

maybe you should PM a mod and ask one of them they may know the answer.

well i finally found the number, i take him to the vet tomorrow at 11 ill let you know how he does.

A mod is a moderater the people who have blue banners under there names which say moderater,
It wouldnt hurt to Pm one and see what they think ups with him,
Has he ever attacked you before?

No he has never been like that with anyone. Like i said ive had him for 3 years and hes never had a black beard, only puffed his beard out if i was feeding him fast enough lol. But i talked to the vet today he said to just take anything out that he could climb on and fall again out of his viv. so i did...he's not too happy about that. ill let yiou know if he gets worse and what vet says tomorrow thanks for your help

well the vet said nothing was broken. But the fact the the temp is going down in his viv on the cool side he might have an infection. So he gave me medicine. He gave him a hot to boost his appetite. But the vet said he could eat scrambled eggs (blend shell with everything until it turns into a dusty and then microwave the whole thing) minnows, tuna fish. I thought that was weird,

I'm not sure I would trust that vet. I know minnows especially are NOT recommended because they are not a natural food source and have a lot of bacteria. As for the *possible* infection, I'm not sure I like the vet medicating without knowing. Meds can be VERY harsh on their little systems.
