Hello! This is a late intro. We adopted a three year old male beardie named Beans 3 weeks ago, and its safe to say I'm completely obsessed. I think my hubby and boys are feeling a bit neglected. This is my first experience with a bearded dragon. I never considered having a reptile as a pet. But some friends of ours needed to give him away and since 75% of our family is allergic to hairy animals I thought hey, a non-allergic animal? For free? Sure, we'll take it. Beans was supposed to be our boys' pet. Well *ahem* I am head over heels in love with him, and spend way too much time every day holding him, talking to him, staring at him .... etc. And even more hours have been spent stalking this site like a psycho! I am so grateful for all the knowledge and advice everyone has! Looking forward to getting to know everyone and all your sweet beardies.
Here are a couple photos I took today of Beans:
First thing this morning, all crabby and puffed up - apparently he doesn't like having a big camera pointed at him upon awakening!! (thanks to the member who reassured me earlier today that the white area is in fact a shed and not something bad, I was scared!).
It absolutely KILLS me when he lays around like this. Typical guy  "Do you mind? I'm trying to relax here."
Having a bath (not his favorite pastime, in case you couldn't tell!):
He's been a very irregular pooper (although a very good eater) since bringing him home, only pooping about 2x a week and always very loose & watery, making me worry! But I am proud to report that today he pooped twice, both good solid poops! Mama is so proud and might I say there is nothing more fun than sitting in the bathroom with your two human boys, laughing at your beardie farting & pooping while swimming in the tub.
I have big plans for his viv so will post about that later, need advice for sure. :study:
