Draco used to do this all the time when we had him in a 20g and 55g. He would do this every morning until I would let him out. I believe it was because the temperature was a little to high in his viv. We got a digital prope thermometer to measure the temp better in his basking spot and have not waken up to this sense, We also got him a 75g and a perch to climb up and haven't seen him do it except when he has to poo.

You could also try decorating the cage more. I found that when I started my dragons would do this more when I was a beginner and put only a rock or two. Once you add more stuff for him to climb on, rocks, vines, hammocks etc. he may be entertained a bit more in his cage and not be so anxious to attempt to flee.

Obviously when you can I would upgrade his cage size too.

My Beardie scratches the walls of her cage when she needs to poop. But when I let her run around the bathroom she'll scratch the walls because she wants to be held.

Thats what I was thinking. No offense, but your tank looks kinda boring, lol, if I was a beardie spending most of my time in it, I'd want out too!
Beardies are arboreal and love to climb. Get more stuff in there for him to climb.

In mine, I've got a couple rocks, there is also a raised platform where I keep his food and a large branch for him to climb. He also has a length of rope that hangs from the ceiling that he loves to climb.

My beardie spends very little time on the ground of his enclosure. I have even caught him clutching onto his climb rope while sleeping, lol, when I woke up the next morning, he was still in the same position as the night before.

maybe its just that they dont realize that there is something there. ive noticed my dragon will only run into walls if they are white. if the wall is colored she doesn't try to go through it.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
