BD wont drink from bowl! Help me...

to get him to drink.Do I move the water,put crickets in the water,spray him.What do i do....

Most of them wont figure it out... Dudley hates it when I put a water dish in his viv, LOL. Thats what baths are for though!

I tried to teach mine but she was having none of it- 3 months on and she still ignores her water bowl, except to go paddling in it! Like Jess4921 said, most don't drink from bowls. Make sure you mist yours daily (a spray bottle will do) and give regular baths- make sure water is warm and doesn't go past the shoulders. they will also get moisture from their salad

You'll rarely ever see a beardie drink from the bowl. Give him a daily spray with warm water and a warm bath once a week.
When you spray them, you'll notice that they lick their nose or something in their tank... that's them drinking water.

When I first got my beardie I held a dropper up to his nose, Now he knows what to expect and will drink up to a six or more drops at a time before he stops.

Bad habit.

I'm hoping to to slowly entice him to drink from the bowl by holding the dropper nearer and nearer to it.

Mine have baths every 2 days, and they always drink from it,
If there young, there is a video on youtube on how to train your dragon to drink, not sure if it works though.

I tried that but gave up. She just kept looking at my face and refused to watch what i was teaching her to do lol :roll:

Lol i actually never tried it, i have put bowls in but never have they drunk from them :/
Baths are better anyway

Has anyone ever tried putting buggies in their beardies baths? Just a random thought. I found out that crickets are actually pretty good swimmers! (I tried to drown them in my frogs aquarium, and they kept diving away from me like little professional swimmers, LOL!)

When I bathe Dudley, I make the water a little deeper at first so he can drink from it, and when he is done drinking I pour some out so it is a little shallower for swimming time.

The crickets that I would get were great swimmers also. I always heard of crickets always drowning, and that why I bought that cricket water gell stuff. But any time they got in Midna water they looked like they could be in the olympics, they were just that good of swimmers :lol:
