I have a 3 yr. old BD. He will only eat crickets. If you don't force him to eat greens or anything else he won't eat. I have heard at this age they should be mostly interested in eating veggies and greens but mine wants nothing to do with them. Any ideas and is it okay for him to only survive on crickets?

have you tied putting water in a old empty criket tup and leave some bits of salad inside the tub leave lid of put it in the viv/tank then leave the beardie for a few hours come bkack and cheak it out

just take all the crikets out ad some other things leave t without crikets for 1-2 days it will get hungry then it will eat salads, mealworms, waxworms ect.

It isn't good for an adult dragon to have a whole lot of live food - the extra fat and protein makes them more susceptible to fatty liver disease. A healthy dragon diet is a daily salad and only 25-50 bugs a week. Unfortunately getting a dragon to eat their greens is often easier said than done. When my girl starts refusing her salads I usually with hold her worms until she eats some greens - it can take a couple of days for this to happen with her. As it is, I feed her worms on a random schedule - she gets them 2 days a week, different days each week. This way she's more likely to eat her salad since she doesn't know that she'll have worms at the end of the day. I also found that it helps to mix coloured fruits/veggies in with the salad - the colour catches your dragon's attention, and most dragons will eventually lick something that interests them :) Have you tried mixing the crickets or worms in with the salad? That's another common trick.

Here is a great website for ideas on feeding dragons. Just lurk around on this forum and you will learn a lot.

Just like the other poster said add the live food on top of the salad and offer everyday. I put a salad in every morning and then take it out before lights out. I also mist the veggies a couple times a day because they get crispy.

Some dragon is more interested in live food than greens for some reason. I've heard from some who breed beardies, and they said they have some old beardies that won't touch the greens no matter what, and they have babies hatched out a few weeks started eating greens already. Some beardies just don't want greens for some reason.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
