Baytril & Probiotics?

Hello again everyone!
Chester has been diagnosed with a very early URI. The doc wanted to ensure that it doesn't progress so he wants him on baytril. Today will be the 4th day on Baytril and I haven't noticed any of the bad side effects yet (lethargy, loss of appetite, etc.) but I know it's still probably taking a huge hit on his system. I hear that probiotics is good to give after giving Baytril and I'll probably talk to my vet about that one too. But I'd like to know if anyone has any experience with Baytril and what was given to your beardie after to help recover from it.

Hi, our 4 yr old male is on Baytril right now for a URI. It's always a good idea to give probiotics while on the med and at least for 1 to 2 wks after.

I use Benebac gel, the type of birds & reptiles and Loki licks it right off his nose and really seems to like it. I give it to him about 1/2 hr before giving the Baytril, seems to be working out very well. Your local petstore should carry it too but make sure it isn't the type for dogs or cats as those have a different flavor.
