Bathing

I've read through the majority of the forums trying to find an answer for this, to no avail. Is there any certain amount of time that we are supposed to bath them? From what I've found so far, bathing twice a week is normal and helps with shedding and hydration, no spraying or spritzing, just bathing a couple times a week, but for how long? What temperature?

around 15 minutes is good.

Water temperature warm, not hot. The temperature you would bathe a human baby in.

Brandon is right. I always check the water temp by the inside of my wrist and that works out well.

Heads up: sometimes when bathing, your beardie might find it more relaxing to poop in the water than in the viv. Might, but not all beardies take to pooping in the bath.

That's actually what ours prefer to do, makes cleanup easier too. Then I wash it out and put fresh water back in, they are anxious to continue with their bath, Also, be on the look out for the poop because usually when they do that in their bath, they are quick to want to climb out to get away from it so be sure to watch them closely.

I love that mine has taken to pooping in his daily bath, I haven't cleaned up a half-dried poop upon coming home from work from his basking spot since. :D

My oldest does the same. The 2 babies are still pooing multiple times a day :( but I'm sure once they get a bit older I will get them on schedule too. So much easier for cleaning!

To help with water temperatures, you can use a digital thermometer with probe to monitor them. Using the wrist technique is good too but, your body temperature can fluctuate. I bath in 94-97°F for ~10 minutes, the water should be no higher then the dragons shoulders, I find they seem more comfortable when the water level is equal to their sides..

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
