Bath time question??

Hey everyone,
I put Harry in the bath today like I normally do 3 to 4 times a week. I did add a little more water because he seems to like to swim around a little and I was being cautious and underfilled it so he was safe. Well the water started to get cool so I went to take him out. He started hissing at me and tried to jump back in. Can the cool water harm him? He refuses to poop in the bath, instead he poops before the bath right on his basking rock, drives me crazy!! I have to move him, take it out clean it, put it back, then Harry goes in the bath. I love all the stories about the other beardies that poop in a special spot and the trained ones. I read the threads to Harry but he doesn't care. When he has to poop he just poops where he is. Anyhow, I am still shaky with the bath time so any advice is welcome.

Beardies shouldn't be let cool down too much as they need the heat to digest and stay healthy. A little cool water won't hurt him though, don't leave him in it for an hour or anything though and make sure to put him back in his tank after the bath so he can bask if he wants too.

Don't worry that's where my beardie goes to the bathroom all the time as well, right on the basking rocks. That's her "special spot"

my girl loves cold water she loves to play in the rain . she swims like crazy in the rain puddles .

I put him right under his light after the bath so he could be warm. He was giving me an attitude about it, but I told him he needed to be warm so he wouldn't get a belly ache!! He looked at me with a cocked head and laid down on his rock for about 1/2 hour then did the glass dance to get out. He is now under the table laying on his cool rock asleep!!! He is so stubborn!! Oh and when I look at him he opens one eye gets all puffy and hisses at me. My daughter can lay right there and he sleeps, but he is still mad at me. For a beardie he sure can hold a grudge!!

I just love your post about Harry, he is quite the character. As the above poster said the cool water will not hurt, but will not help for digestion either.

Not sure if you had tried to bath Harry in the sink, but this is what I do for Emmalee most of the time. That way when the water get cool, I drain a little out and add a little in.

He reminds me so much of Emmalee from the hissing, to the stink eye, to the refusal to bask, maybe they are lost siblings.
