Bath questions and not pooping much.

My rocky is now 13 months and for the last probaby 6 months he has been eating super worms almost daily (along with a healthy salad twice a day). Some large supers some medium. Some probably too big but he loved them. He doesn't poop daily and he never did as a juvenile either. But I'm beginning to get concerned now. I've given him warm baths but he's never pooped in them. I want to start with daily or every other day baths but he HATES them so much I feel like I'm torturing him.

What are some bath time tips and tricks? Or anything you guys want to share about your beardies bath time? How long do you keep them in there? Do I keep him in until he poops even though he just tries to escape the whole time?

He's about 13 inches so too big for my sink. I keep him in the tub with an inch or so of water. Enough to cover his legs really.

Please give me some bath time tips for Rocky and I :) I'm worried about his bowels!

Thanks again!

My bearded dragon, Pascal, hates bathes as well. He is always fighting to get out. I always keep him in long enough until he poops. If he is shedding, I keep him in longer to loosen the skin. You can try putting a rock in the tub so he has something to climb on. I sometimes put a wash clothe at the bottom and he seems to be more comfortable about it. Also, I realized the bath water has to be a perfect warm/hot temperature or else Pascal doesn't poop in it. So you may need to look at adjusting the temperature of the bath. Repetition will make your beardie more comfortable with bath time.
Pascal poops every day but I know every beardie is different. You can cut back on the super-worms and see if his pooping improves. Super-worms are harder to digest so that could be why. Try another live feeder to see if it increases his bowel movement.

One thing I've heard -- [don't know if it's actually true or not though]

is that the hardest part to digest of a super is it's head, so cutting the heads off

right before you feed them to the dragon can help with digestion.

Again, I don't know if that's really true or not, I don't feed supers, but

it's what I've heard before.

So you shouldnt be feeding him so much of one thing. Make sure you are adding crickets into his diet as well (powdered with calcium). Super worms can back up the beardies system if given too many because it becomes hard to digest, and then that can lead to even greater problems. When you give him warm baths make sure you are also rubbing downwards on his belly so it can help with movement. If you are having trouble with keep him in the bath use your kitchen sink or bathtub so that its too tall to climb out of. Good Luck!!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
