Basking?

I'm not sure what light to buy for basking for my beardie. He has a reptisun 10 that runs his entire tank. He had a night bulb that we left on 24/7 for extra heat that he preferred to lay under but I am not able to get another one. I live in a town that does not have a pet store so I'm hoping I can find something in the stores like walmart. Walmart has one that is Fluker's Aquaculture 75W Daylight Bulb, does anyone know about this bulb? Is it safe?

I don't know about that specific bulb.

However, since you're using a ReptiSun 10 for UV, all you really
need is a bright white light for his basking area temps.

Just use a regular Halogen Spotlight or Floodlight bulb. They are
way cheaper (from the hardware store) than those "pet" bulbs and
are just as good if not better.

Make sure it's either a Halogen bulb or at least is a Neodymium free bulb
(Neodymium is used on some "reveal" or "vision" bulbs to make the light
seem brighter to humans, but actually makes them darker to reptile vision)

For nighttime heat, you should really use a Ceramic Heat Emitter and not
a "nighttime" bulb. They sell those night bulbs saying that beardies can't see
the light, but they can and it can disturb their sleep.

I mean not to discard your information soulwind, but the nighttime bulbs are helpful. Most beardies can sleep with a little light. Plus Ceramic Heat Emitters aren't very cheap from what i have seen, though maybe they are cheaper somewhere else. I agree 100% on the basking bulbs.
