Using a 75W halogen basking bulb, i get a high temp of 125-150 at the hottest spot directly below the bulb, but that quickly dissipates to a 100-90 as you move away from that central spot.
Is this fine and he will just settle down in a spot that has the most comfortable temp for him? or do I need to use a lower wattage bulb? or lower the basking spot further from the bulb (currently at about 6" i would estimate, but i can measure when i get home for exact distance from bulb to branch)?

Hi, if you're getting temps that high, you really should change to a lower wattage basking bulb, you probably don't need a halogen and those do indeed get hotter. What is the cool side temp? What size is the tank?

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
