Basking light went out this morning

So my basking light for my beardie went out this morning and my husband has the car today. So I have read that I can use a flood light. Which we have two of. So I when I put that in it looked very bright. Is this okay? And is it going too give off the right amount of heat? I have a digital thermometer in her tank and will be monitoring temps. But I was just wondering if this would be okay for now?

Yeah that should be fine. Keep a close eye on temps though. I use a halogen flood light as my main basking light and it works well. I have it on a thermostat that dims it as needed and before that I used an adjustable lamp stand so it was easy to tweak everything to keep the right temps. Using a nice bright light for basking is best as long as you can maintain proper temperature gradients.

No those don't put out heat either. in order to get adequate heat, you will need a halogen flood or a basking bulb, but a regular light bulb would be better then nothing if put in a dome with a reflector.

Ok. Ill have too stick with the led for now until I get paid. Its weird they dont give off heat. Her basking spot today was at 105

LED lights dont produce infared waves, which is what produces the heat output from halogen bulbs.

If you are getting a reading of 105 at basking spot from a digital thermometer with probe under just an led bulb, either your thermometer is broken, or that isnt really an LED bulb.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
