basking lamp

i've bought a new vivarium, its one of those wooden ones with 2 glass sliding doors.
i'm just trying to work out the best position for the basking lamp.
positioning my basking lamp in my other viv was a nightmare, i changed the position 3 times befor i got it right so...

should i screw an angled batten holder to the side?....
or a straight batten holder to the ceiling?

i'm trying to get it right first time because i dont want to get screw holes everywhere in my nice shiney new viv

the viv measures 48x15x15 inches and the bulb is a sunglo daylight spot 100w

does anyone know the best position/angle to get the optimal temp?

You can either use an angled or a straight batten holder but I usually place them on the top so I can cover up the screws and wires with something. If you use an angled one make sure its placed closer to the door and have it directed towards the back. This would allow the cool side to stay cool and you won't have the light shining on you when your in the room. Using an angled one makes it alot closer to the bottom, so since your cage is only 15 inches high, I would recommend using the straight one to create more space. You should probably just use a 75-100 watt and see how that works for you. Any higher wattage would be a larger bulb and get to close to the bottom.
