basking and stress marks

My beardies stress marks show a lot during the day but when we go sit outside and smoke ( i smoke she basks ) they go away for the rest of the day. I'm not sure what to think about it. I have read so much conflicking info on the stress marks. Anybody else have this happen?

What UV light are you using? Is it obstructed? How close can she get to it?

mine does that too sometimes. someone here told me that they can turn themselves darker to absorb more UVB rays. she explained it like a person wearing a white t-shirt on a hot day vs. a black t-shirt. perhaps once your dragon has been in natural sunlight, she gets all the rays she needs, so she puts the white t-shirt back on.

Im using a repti glo 10 for my uvb and she can with in about 6 in from it.

they get darker to absorb more heat and look less delightful for any possible predators. nothing to worry about.
