Ok I just got back from the KC reptile show and I thought the main reptile there would be beardies.I thought wrong :x . I was only able to find 2 beardies there and 1 looked lethargic. was also looking for a bigger tank and they only had up to 40g. basicly over 60% of the stuff was frogs and snakes. So i am really sad now :( . If any else is looking for beardies there today. DO NOT GO!!

Most reptile shows that I go to usually have more snakes and leopard geckos than anything else, and a lot of frogs are there too. The last show that I went to had at least 5 beardie breeders there though, so it wasn't too bad. Only seeing 2 at a show would be dissapointing :(

We went to the show earlier today and I didn't think it was all that bad. I have been enough times now though to know when there will be a lot of babies like beardies, and thats more in the spring. I will agree there was one bad vender that had a few lizards, like some uro's, that were very thin and appeared to be WC. I still think it was worth going. We weren't planning on buying any animals (unless we fell in love with something), but its still neat to go and look around and look into things for the future. And, GoLizards had some great prices on feeders, so we got some supers, ect for our lizards.

What a shame.
I went to a local reptile show which is where I got Rocky at. There were a couple Bearded Dragon breeders there. The one I got Rocky from had about 6 baby dragons, 4 juvenile, and a couple of adults at descent prices. The other breeder had about 8 baby dragons. So there were quite a few, but the main thing displayed was snakes, frogs, rats, yeah that whole thing. The lady also sold crickets to start us off which was awesome.
So the one around here was pretty good. Shame you don't have many BD breaders in your area.

Ya the only people who had the beardies was Golizards. I might go in spring hopefully. I would be happy if i got to see atleast a dozen beardies :) .

The last reptile show I went to had a very nice BD breeder who brought a nice mix of breedings and ages. I did see some BD's who didn't look in good condition, but they were not from the good breeder. The difference between a good breeder and bad one in terms of the condition of the animals can be so drastic.

Very true. Some breeders will look at it as all business while others will have passion and love each and every one of their beardies, but are willing to do business.

BTW. At my petsmart I'm pretty sure they aren't selling much bearded dragons. The 10 times i've been in there for the past year they have not have not had any bearded dragons compared to the year before that where they almost always had them. This is good because petsmart takes crappy care of their beardies. Maybe people have finally taken note NOT to buy from them.

I'm sure you'll see a LOT more in the spring, I usually always go in the summer due to the bigger turn out. I didn't see miles of exotics there and a few other larger vendors that are usually there, so its a lot smaller in the winter. The only thing that I did find very disappointing is the amount of advertising they did this time. It was over crowded in there, and people (like myself) couldnt get good service or see anything when I actually wanted to make a purchase. I'm all about educating people, but there were a lot of children in there (literally, 13 and under), running around with no parents in site. Even saw a group of 5 of them get picked up by their parents. Its not a daycare facility, and a lot of them were shaking the tubs, etc. Also, there were some new vendors there telling people the wrong information to make a sell. I like the shows because its so much better than the pet stores- but if they keep letting anyone out there vend, i might not go much longer. This guy was telling a mom and her daughter that the $20 Jones Armadillo was a rarer sub species that grabs its tail and rolls into a ball. The actual species that does that is a heck of a lot more expensive and a lot more rare. I felt like telling her that my Jones doesn't do much but bask, then run in his hide if we come near him, but to each their own.

Ya I think in such a small amount of breeders there they would be able to find better breeders who know what there doing over all.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
