BAD MEGA-RAY HOW CAN YOU TELL?

Hello Ya'll
I know mega-ray has had issues but how can you tell if you got a bad bulb?
Te boy my 7 month old sure seems to be laying under his log a lot lately.
I orderd 2 bulbs from mac in October (back ordered received them in December)
all my temps ar right on .He loves his salads (mustard greens & super worms)
i have a forked shaped branch in his basking area next to basking rock (103f taken with digital probe and heat gun)
His eating is normal for a growing boy (17" 350 grms)
The bulb looks normal (can't see where any frosting has come off)
But i recall reading that the megarays has issues about this time.
If it is a bad bulb how can you tell ?
Could a bad bulb cause him to want to sleep a lot lately?
Is he just an overweight pigged out lazy dragon?
Took him to vet 2 weeks ago fecal normal no parasites to worry about.
MY BULB IS A 100 WT SB
