Hello all! I just got back home (Texas) from living in Canberra, Australia. I was attending college at the Australian National University, taking courses in Biology and Ecology. As a Wildlife Biology major, I took every opportunity to see what kind of critters I could find. Being a lizard lover, I was always on the look-out for some new scaly friends. As most of you know, the beloved Bearded Dragon is native to Australia. Because I lived in the South-East, I knew I would not run into an Inland Beardie, but it's cousin, the Eastern bearded dragon. To make a long story short, they were everywhere! These lizards were at all the parks and you were sure to see them begging for table scraps around concession stands and outdoor cafes! They were dog gentle and lied around by the little decorative ponds or on a park bench. It is hard to imagine when we only see beardies in captive settings. But I thought I would share it with you!

Oh and thanks for noticing. I meant Eastern Water Dragon (Physignathus lesueurii). I had "bearded" on the brain. lol And Australia was awesome. A must have adventure.

no problem. Eastern water dragons are beautiful animals. And a great species to be able to meet in the wild. There are very few of them in the pet trade here in the us but they are a beautiful animal to behold. congrats on the eventful trip abroad.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
