Chilly Pepper's always been a picky eater since I got him - but he started eating decently for a while, and then went thru a shed. But I noticed he only eats like 5-8 crickets before he loses interest and starts trying to escape and run around to play, etc. lol

He eats anywhere from 5-8 medium size crix 2x/day (Sometimes up to 14ish in a sitting, on a good day) plus salad. i read that baby beardies can eat upwards of 60/day  My lil man could never eat that many. Should I be worried? I've only had him 3 weeks or so.. So I haven't noticed much as far as growth - but I also read that they grow really fast. I would love to get my hands on some Dubia's or Phoenix worms but there are none anywhere in the city I live in :( They have crickets or Mealworms (yea, mealworms... and the pet stores sell them as a main staple for bearded dragons)..

What do you all think?

How is his eye doing? Sometimes illness or discomfort can put them off their appetites. Are you feeding in his terrarium or a feeding tub? He is eating something though and his salad, so that's good at least.

As for dubia, I think I read you are in Canada? Unfortunately they are illegal up there, I'm not sure if here are any legal alternatives either - though there do seem to be some underground roach colonies. There are a number of other easily cultured roaches... But like I said...not sure hey are legal. You might need to cruise some Canadian forums to see what's available.

You might be able to find soldier fly larvae under another name (reptiworms or calciworms) though. I never see them locally in my area and have only gotten them via mail-order.

I woke up this morning and he's shedding his full body!!! His legs were shedding, and now hes working on the rest of his body- This could be why he's not eating as much, couldn't it? His eye is doing a lot better. Almost looks completely better but not quite. I had NO idea that dubia's were illegal here LOL wow. Shows how much I know!

oh! And I feed him in a tub. He's too slow to get them in his terrarium - they hide before he gets them lol

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
