Wandered into Petco today while my wife was shopping next door. There was one little guy in the tank all by himself. A nice little leatherback. I was surprised to see a leatherback there. I checked their tank out a bit. They have 2 - 18'' T8 bulbs one after another and no basking light. Wasn't sure of the temps because they used 3 of the stick on dials which read 70 on one side and about 85 on the other so who knows. Sand substrate with a bowl of salad (lettuce and strawberry pieces) and a couple of good climbs. Little guy was just hanging out in the sand with his legs out looking very content and sleepy. Was tough not to bring him home =)

And when you go to the reptile section to look in on the beardies [ just to see what they have] and one beautiful, healthy baby is looking dead at you ....there's a message there. :)

I did that to a pet store in W.Mass call pet supplies plus. Use to go for my crickets and they had a enclosure with 3-4 in it.....they all stopped and looked with the "are you taking me?" eyes.
Wish I had more room and knew more....maybe next year when I get the one I have under control. :D

"It's almost bedtime. Please leave me alone now. I was quite content pancaking in the sand until you showed up!" Right?

You're killing me with that! Now I want to go back and get him. I know the story all too well. That's exactly how we got Cooper =) I think I'll stick to rescues from here in. Healthy little guy like that should find his way to a nice home. If anyone is in the area and looking for a baby though, he's at the Coralville (IA) Petco right next to I-80.

He/she is adorable. :) And you're probably right about him getting grabbed up soon unless you just decide you have room for him AND a rescue. But that's the last bit of pressure from me, it's nice that you are waiting for a dragon that really, really needs a good home.

Don't get him just yet. The right beardie will come along just like Dundee did. There is another bearded dragon somewhere in the world who needs your love and care to nurse them back to health. Not just anybody can give a sick beardie exactly what it needs like you can. Just be patient.

Ahh man that little guy looks like he's loving that sand. He looks like he'd be a fun dragon to raise! Such a good photo, I always imagined dragons having Aussie accents, I'd imagine he'd be saying something funny right now.

It's nice to see a healthy looking one at a PetCo, one of the ones here locally has had two within the past month come in with multiple leg paralysis. :banghead:

Their setup there at least sounds better than the Petco I got Gary at...

5 gallon tank holding probably about 5-6 beardies, differing in sizes but all babies.

Only one stick on temp and it read like 75, the humidity was up to 80, no basking light and I couldn't tell if the light was a UVB light... crickets all around the tank and a bowl of mealworms. Poop everywhere. :angry5:

My boyfriend and I are like.... We are getting one of these out of here NOW.

And so we rescued little Gary. :-D He had parasites but the vet trips and medicine costs were worth it. We call him our first child :love5:

I hope that beautiful beardie finds a great home!

Hello,

Oh how sweet, he is a gorgeous boy! :D It is very hard not to take them when you see them, especially if they are healthy!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
