We have a new baby beardie, had him for about a week now. Today we took him out to feed him, and noticed he keep opening his mouth (not hissing). I know sometimes they do this when they regulate heat, but it just seemed weird. Also, when my boyfriend picked him up, the beardie nudged against his hand (similar to a cat brushing up against your leg).. he was doing it with his head. When he was in his feeding tank he opened his mouth a few times. When we put him back in the tank he nudged against his twig basking spot. Could that be a reaction to his shedding (he just started to)? Or is this just normal behavior or heat regulation? He's still very affectionate and calm.
