Just had my hornworm eggs start hatching!! pretty excited about it. collecting eggs from the moths enclosure has become a daily habit, for the last 5 days. I've got around 1200-1500 eggs, so over the next few days they should all be hatched. it's a really cool process from start to finish, and it's almost unbelieveable how small the babies are, seeing they get 4" haha.

 1500?!?!?! Hope you have a lot of food...

Congrats! :blob5:

haha, ya, the food isn't cheap either lol. it took me a pound of food just to make the cups for the eggs, and there 50-75 in each cup, so they will need more food in 2-3 days probly haha. good thing I have dozens of hungry dragons

have you raised a large number of them?? it goes pretty quick, even with the small ones, but your right, when they get an inch or so it's goooone lol

Thats really cool. tried to raise some horns, got 3 to pupate but only one hatched and I couldn't get it to feed. What do you provide the adults to lay on?

I put a tomato plant on the outside of the screen on.the enclosure, and they lay the eggs all throughout the enclosure.

Hmm, I might have to try again this summer once the tomatoe plants are growing. I'd love to raise my own horns even if it was more for fun the feeding. Sikies are what I raise, they seem easier but I've had some problems with fungus on the last couple batches.

it is deff. worth the experience. it's very neat watching the life cycle and seeing them feed/lay eggs. the are like a mini hummingbird, floating from flower to flower and "drinking" haha

mine took about 4 days to hatch, but they can hatch as quick as 2 days. where did you order your eggs from?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
