Baby food

So, I decided to try and feed a little bit of baby food to my little girl last night (She is perfectly healthy, just trying to offer a variety)

At first I dipped my finger in it, expecting her to lick a bit off the tip of my finger, but I go nothing but the stink eye from her... I dabber a little on her nose, which took her about 30 seconds to lick off and get a taste and I swear within a fraction of a second from her tasting what was being offered, she lunged at my finger trying to get more... only problem was she wasn't just licking! she was trying to swallow my finger!

So, back to the drawing board I put some baby food into a syringe that I had brought home in case she ever got sick and I had to force feed.... she licked a few drops off the tip and then it was like the more she got the more she wanted because before I knew it she was latched onto the body of the syringe!

Last attempt I tried leaving some in a shallow dish for her but she would only lick it the way they lick things when they are exploring.

How do you guys get your Beardies to eat from a syring without trying to eat the syringe???


Any if anyone wants to know, it was Heinz Mixed Fruit baby food that was such a hit!

Mine love the butternut squash (greber) I just scoop it out with a spoon and feed it to them that way. The female eats the globs just before the drop and the male grabs on to the spoon and scrapes it off. If there isn't enough there for him he will shake it. it can get pretty messy feeding them tho. :lol:
