Oh thats really bad info 6 months you would be lucky if it were still alive. I wouldnt hesitate at all to get the uvb bulb. They can go a little bit but its not worth the chance and plus since yours are already in critical condition it could be lethal. There is no benefit to not having a uvb so like I said I would get it as soon as possible. Its for the beardie and will help immensely. I dont know why someone would tell you that like as if its a big inconvienance to get the uvb that they would rather go without.. Thats odd, but stick to this forum many on here are extremely experienced breeders and owners.

Perhaps a couple hours each day of DIRECT full sun will help the babies until the new ReptiSun arrives.

i actually just got home form the pet store and bought the Reptisun 10.0. I am about to go install it and hopefully will see some change. would anyone recommend keeping it on all night, so maybe if its just a digestion problem that they can digest?

You lucky guy; NO stores in my area carry ReptiSun. They don't think it's necessary.

no, it looks like an energy saving light bulb. The had the long tube ones, but I didn't have the fixture for it. Is my bulb not as good?

The coil bulbs are not very good unfortunately. The long flourescent tube bulbs is what you need. For the fixture you can go to home depot and get one for cheaper. Also if you have a fish tank hood with a light by any slim chance you could use that.

i dont have a fixture. I am alos building a terrarium right now for one and won't be able to put a fixture on top like that( i dont think). Whats wrong witht he coil bulbs?

I have this one. All you have to do is take that cover off the light so the light is exposed. And you have to buy a plug and wire to wire it up. If this is too complicated they have those shoplight type fixtures you can plug right in and set on top of the viv

Oh Ok so how long will the terranium be? Because you can get the shop type fixture if you know what I mean they sell them from anywheres to 4 or 8 feet mmaybe longer I am not sure I have a 4foot one.

As far as the coil goes I am not sure I will let someone else answer that I just read on here that they arent suggested, sorry.

you know what, my son has poison dart frogs that we use a fixture just like that one on top for the plants. I got it at walmart for like 7 bucks. i bet I could just take that bulb out and put in a repti sun..maybe..i hope. I think I might have this figured out. i will take that bulb back tomorrow and get the repti sun. I think I will still leave the coil on tonight until I get thr suggested one tomorrow bc its better than nothing right? I think Petsmart still carries the repti sun.

Ahhhhh....

We are onto something here. We are surrounded by PetSmarts here, and, as you found out, they have the RS COIL. But they dont have the tubes, at least mine don't.

Perfect! I am actually using one off of a fish tank right now it was an 18 inch. The reptisun should fit right in no problem just make sure you get the right length bulb. I cant believe petsmart actually has repti-sun tube bulbs they usually have everything but them. If you dont find it I have seen petco carrying them and maybe some ma and pa type stores too.

Petsmart does have them. The bulb itsel+f is 49.99+, but petmountain has the same exact bulb for 17 something. my fixture is 18 inches long, so yes it should fit. Boy oh boy this is complicated stuff.
