That is great news he ate some bug slurry & seemed to like it also. I really hope he comes around & continues to improve for you.

I am not getting as much as I'd like into him but he seems quite well, bathing him several times a day to keep him hydrated, superworm slurries, today I got kale into him by chewing a tiny piece up first.( I know...totally gross O) but it DID work :roll: My daughter just loves him, gotta admit hes a real little trouper, how can you not love him :wink:

Any idea's for name's? I'm still at a loss for one :?

Chewing up food for someone isn't gross if that's how you can get them to eat. Long before dentists, it was common for people in many cultures to chew food for their elders who had lost their teeth.

If it was me, I would not choose a name that relates to his disability. But Mr. Peepers comes to mind...
My boys have common names-Fred and Buster. My dogs are Ralph and Woodrow. Not real creative, but it works.

I hope that your little one continues to improve. You're doing an awesome job with him!

Well, Punkin's second to last egg from her last clutch hatched this morning. Unfortunately I realized quickly upon inspection he has a birth defect of no eye at all on one side, its all sunken in like its supposed to be like that... His other eye seem smaller than a normal baby eye and I do think he is blind on that side too....

Has anyone ever had a blind Dragon? If so I would love to have your input, this lil guy is precious and if there's any chance to raise him well I want to, what to do, what not to do.... I know they are VERY visual eater so I have a great deal of concern there, right now he's just out of the egg so will probably not be hungry for a day or two....hopefully I'll have some ideas then. I will post pics when my camera batteries are finished charging.....You just can't help but fall in love with him.

sorry I haven't post much in the last couple months, inlaws and nephews were visiting for the last 7 weeks so I didn't get much computer time at all

I am new to the world of beardies, but I do know he will adjust. It will be an adjustment for both of you, until you figure out what works and what doesn't, but I'm sure he will thrive. When I went to the breeder to get my little girl, she had a beardie there that was abused (she does rescues too) and she was blind. Feeding her didn't seem much more difficult than feeding a beardie with excellent eyesight.

my first clutch of eggs have just hatched and i have noticed that one of my little darlings also appears to have no eyes, i hope i can help it to adapt as it is only 3 days old

So far so good He is aptly named Trooper now Tail kink seems a bit worse but he does seem to like his superworm slurries although again he just isnt eating as much as I think he should, when he doesn't want it he rubs it off his head. I gave him REALLY small supers and was hoping he could maybe see outa that one eye but I got no response at all... He loves loves loves bath time, lol and is a wonderful lil guy to handle, he's got complete trust in me :love5:

Princess Randy, wow! another one like trooper! Keep us updated on how he does please? Trooper ate ALL the guts from an entire super today, I was so happy! Now thats a meal! A BIG super too! He really does not like to direct facial spray with the water bottle afterward to clean him off though, lol. But he's definitly growing
