Baby bites

My youngest dragon, just got it about 3 weeks ago, maybe it's 2 months old, whenever I try petting or taking it out it bites me then runs away, when I finally grab it and take it out he seems fine, doesn't try to run just hangs out. I never had this problem with my other ones, will it stop or will I have to feed him to one of my big guys (just kidding) or is this something I will always be dealing with? Thnx for any helpful info

You have got to look at it from the baby's point of view. You're small, vunerable, and tasty to other animals. Many small animals get spooked when they are grabbed. I have found once you get them they do calm down, the grabbing is was scares them. (It's like a predator grabbing them). Maybe try a more gentler way, to pick it up. Usually, they do learn that you aren't going to hurt them and end up being ok with the grabbing.
