Baby Beardie won't eat?

Hi,

I'm new to this site and also new to having BABY beardies. I've had an adult and a previous roommate had a sub adult.

A person in my area was moving and needed to rehome this beardie. I've named him Asterio.

It was listed as juvenile but he's probably only 2 months old, MAYBE 2.5 or 3 at most.

After warming up and some naps last night, he's pretty active now, but he still won't eat. I've gotten him to eat 2 mealworms and half a cricket, and 2 small pieces of grape I cut up for him.

It's only been a day, but everything I read, babies eat a whole lot, all the time. I've tried feeding out of cage, in cage, in hand, everything. Is this due to relocation stress? How often does this happen, and how long?

P.s. just thought I'd ask if there's anything different about bathing babies VS adults (as I see he's almost done with shedding, so I wanted to give him a bath today to help maybe with appetite and shed)

Thank you so much for any help!

It may take a while for him to settle into his new home. If he's active that's a good sign. What do you have in place for his lighting? That's quite important especially as they are still developing. I would continue to offer a couple of bug meals per day and if he wants it great but if not I wouldn't worry too much yet. They don't ALWAYS eat a lot, it's more cyclical from what I've seen.

As far as baths go some of them like it and some don't. Since he's still settling in I'd probably hold off on them for now. He can shed without it. If baths are stressful to him it's not worth it and I wouldn't want to risk adding stress on top of getting used to a new home.

I wouldn't worry yet, it is still a new surrounding for it. Give it time and keep offering it food, I feel like when it gets hungry enough it will eat. Mine only at a couple of cricket the first couple day but then slowly turned into a vacuum cleaner.

Thanks you guys! I was genuinely worried but about half hour ago he had a field day and ate quite a few small crickets!! I would say at least 10. When he was done he went and sunbathed.

As far as the bath goes, I will take your advice and hold off. He did get a pretty cute smile on his face when I misted him, so I'll probably do that for a few days then give him a bath when he's ready.

I'm just so nervous because this is my first little wee baby, I was a little unprepared but I'm doing my best.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
