Baby beardie with an eye problem

So I took my little guy to the specialist at my local pet store to check out his eye. For the past 3-4 days his left eye has been closed while he sits still. She said it looks like the upper lid is swollen and, since I don't use sand, it's probably from a small piece of shed. It could develop into something serious/expensive if gone untreated for sometime though. Other than that, she said my beardie looks really healthy and energetic. I also have his first vet appointment this coming Wednesday.

My question: has this happened to anyone else's beardie and if so what was done to fix it?

Update: gave my BD a bath and used warm wet q-tip to wipe around his eye but it still didn't want to open. No puss or flakes around the eyes. Don't think I can get into vet for 6 days. Any advice?
