I'm a first time owner of a baby bearded dragon i'm not sure his approximate age but I noticed slight discolouration spots mainly on his stomach and it looks pretty bad in one spot. I don't want anything to happen to him so I was curious whether or not its something to be worried about. Is it from stress? something in his terrarium poking him? dehydration? Any help or advice is appreciated I don't want anything to happen to him
not sure how to post pictures I will when I find out

Hi Ally.....you have a cute little beardie there. :) So do you mean the spot on his belly + leg ? It looks like it may be a tiny bit of yellow fungus. Y.F. can be very serious.....for now you can apply antifungal cream [ Lamisil , Monistat ] to the areas. Don't bathe him, that can spread it more quickly. Offer him water by dripping it on his snout with a syringe or eyedropper, he will drink that way when he's thirsty. There are a few in depth discussions about beardies with Y.F. in the " infectious diseases " forum that might help you see how others have dealt with it. A poster called " Sammycakes" has had good success clearing her dragon's Y.F. Hopefully you will, too !

Thank you so much for letting me know, wish this wasn't the case. There are some other spots where it looks like it might be, could the ointment be harmful to spots where he doesn't have Y.F? And what are some signs the infection is getting worse? Is the fungus contagious to other species at all? Sorry I have so many questions id rather ask you guys then rely on other sources.

Just dab the ointment on the suspected areas with a Q-tip, and if it does get on other areas it's fine. It IS contagious to other beardies, I don't know if it can affect other species but take good precautions....better safe than sorry. One more thing....don't use any loose substrate, like sand, but keep him on paper towels that can be changed easily + won't stick to him like sand.

Poor little guy, hope it's not YF and clears up for you. A vet may able to culture a sample for you to if what's going on.

CANV (the fungus that is considered a cause of "yellow fungus") is transmissible to other reptiles - it's been reported in snakes, chameleons, geckos, crocodilians and others. There is one case of human infection as well (super rare)- though all the information I've read is that it's a disease of reptiles.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
