Baby beardie not wanting to eat crickets

So I've had him for about 4-5 days and have been having a couple issues getting him to eat. Here's what I have been doing and the results:

1) Placing him in a separate plastic container with paper towel flooring and putting crickets in one by one.
- Result: He stands still for a couple minutes and eventually gets very hyper and runs along the walls until I let him out.
2) Placing the crickets in his habitat
- Result: He goes to the top of the perch and just watches them
3) Hand feeding live crickets to him.
- Result: He will eat a few at a time but eventually starts running and very obviously doesn't want to eat anymore

Other relevant information:
-He's very active and poops daily and I think that's from the greens that I've been giving him. Also doesn't seem to be too skinny based on pictures of other beardies on here.
-He is probably around 6 weeks old (6in long).
-He's very friendly and jumps to my hand when I put it in and will crawl towards me and climb on me when I let him out.
-The basking temp is 100-110 depending on elevation and the cool side is around 75-80 depending on how early it is in the day.
-Using a Desert UVB florescent light from Thrive.

My preliminary conclusion: He seems to be afraid of crickets and to test this I bought a shipment of the smallest purchasable crickets and the smallest phoenix worms.

If all this seems good then just a post of confirmation would be appreciated. However, if there is another thing I could try or if my conclusion seems off, a little guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Since he's active, that's a good sign. He may just not want the crickets. It's good to try the BSFL/Phoenix Worms. Hopefully he'll be more interested in those at the moment. Offering a variety can help find their interest. He may dig into crickets later on but may just not be in the mood for them now for some reason.

If you've only had him 4-5 days, it could also be relocation stress; big changes like a change in habitat can put a beardie off his feed for a bit. Try the BSFL and see if he eats those... if he doesn't, give him a bit of time to acclimate. Continue offering the live food, but don't be surprised if it takes a few more days before his appetite really kicks into gear. Also, how many crickets are you offering at a time? Too many at once may be stressing him a bit - try offering only one or two at a time so he can focus on them, adding more as he eats.

Thanks for the replies, he finally ate a big meal today and the only thing I changed was putting a towel at the bottom of the plastic container rather than paper towels.

The phoenix worms should be arriving soon so I’ll be able to try those.

Ok I am assuming it's a T 8- the fixture is probably ok to use but I would recommend a Reptisun 10.0 bulb--- better bulb better UVB rays-- if it is a T 8 is it in the tank or on top?
